                                 Chapter Two:Runaway Prince


Manic is alone in his bedroom,still upset for what he did to Amy.
'They want what's best for them!All of you control me!!'
'I'm so sorry,Amy,please forgive me...',Manic thought to himself.
Manic absolutely hated to see Amy upset.They had been best friends since Amy came to live in the palace when they were both children.
Knock!Knock!
"Oh!Come in!",Manic almost yelped at the sudden knock on the door.
"Son,we have to talk!You're going to marry Lady Mina!",yelled King Jules.
"Dad,I don't even know her!I don't even like her!"
"You will love her and she'll be your queen!"
"I have lived in this palace for 18 years,dad!18 years!!Can I at least go out and find out what love is?!"
"You will stay in this palace for now and when you're king!"
"But you let Sonic marry that black emo hedgehog!"
"Shadow is an acceptable choice for Sonic!And so is Lady Mina!"
"Then,why don't you marry her if she's so great!!"
"You'll be marrying her and that's final!",yelled King Jules.
Manic had nothing else to say,he just stared into his enraged father's eyes.
"Now get ready for the ball tonight.",King Jules walked out and slammed the door.
...
"...Grrrrrahhh!!!!!You're so f*cking stuborn!!",Manic yelled,even though his father left his room already.

Later that evening...

"Aw,look how handsome you are~!",squealed a young rose hedgehog.
"Uuuugghhh...",groaned Manic looking at himself in the mirror.
"Oh,come on!Tonight is like your bachelor party!Just without the strippers!",a cobalt hedgehog joked.
"Thank God that there aren't any strippers!",the rosy one complained.
With another small groan,Manic turned around to what was behind him:his siblings,Sonic and Sonia.Sonia was wearing her pink hair in those fancy up-do's,with white diamonds,along with a long,golden dress.Sonic was wearing a black tux,with a red bow tie,and polished black shoes.His hand was resting on a small,yet barely noticeable bump on his stomach.Sonic was 4 months pregnant with his and Shadow's second baby and he was glowing.
"But I don't want to go to this stupid ball...!",whined Manic.
"It'll be wonderful!There would lots of famous guests!Oh and--",Sonia said excitedly,until she cut off.
"Sonia,you know Manic doesn't care about any of that...",said the annoyed cobalt.
Knock!Knock!
"Come in!",Manic said.
The door creaked opened to reveal a black hedgehog and a young light blue hedgehog.
"Momma!",squealed the light blue one as he ran to Sonic.
The sky blue hedgehog had red streaks and bangs with the streaks also.He had emerald green eyes,like his 'momma',Sonic.He was wearing a cute sailor uniform.
The other hedgehog had red streaks on his quills,like the younger hedgehog.He had dark red eyes and a very handsome face.He was wearing tuxedo,like Sonic,but had a black bow tie.
"Hi,Sonic Jr.,you look so handsome today!You too,Shadow~!",Sonic said as he was hugging his son.
"Good evening,my love~",Shadow said and embraced Sonic with a kiss.
"Aw~!",chimed Sonia.
"Ew,don't do this in my room...!",gaged Manic.
Annoyed by Manic's comment,Shadow said,"Don't you have a ball to get ready for?".
"Well,I am ready,Mr.Emo.",teased Manic.
"Oh,you're trying to be funny,now?"
"Yeah,you wanna go?!"
"Yeah!"
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah!!"
"Guys,stop acting kids,Jr. acts more mature than you and he's 3!",Sonic exclaimed,"Now,let's all take a chill pill and go downstairs to the ball,mom and  dad are probably waiting for us.".
Everyone all agreed to what Sonic had said and started out the door.Manic stopped.
"Come on,Manic,why did you stop?",asked Sonia.
 "Oh,you guys go ahead,I'll catch up.",Manic said.
The group of royal hedgehogs were okay with Manic's comment and continued these quest to the ball downstairs.And Manic went back to his room,then closed the door.
"Sigh....",Manic was stressed.
Manic looked out his window,the moon was out,bright and beautiful.He also saw male and female Mobians on the patio,some were looking at the now pitch black ocean,some were talking amongst each other.Smiling,laughing putting all their cares away,and these were guests for the ball.
Manic smiled to himself,secretly envying them.The green hedgehog longed to get outside the palace walls as long as he could remember.He wanted to become friends with someone,fall in love with someone,and to have a new life in the outside world.
The emerald hedgehog peered back into his room,staring at a backpack full of clothes.He was planning to runaway,to start a new life.He was ready leave his home,but he hesitated.Manic thought about how his loved ones will be worried sick,and he never really knew anything about the real world.
The hedgehog now stood there waiting for himself to choose between grabbing the backpack and escaping through the window or going downstairs to his family and friends.
