The Prince and His King,Chapter 31

A couple of months have past,Manic is still residing in Moebius;his and Scourge's love is growing.Fiona hasn't terrorized the couple again,fortunately.Everything seems peaceful.
The Mobotroplian prince was with the maids, Brownie and Punky.The servants were cleaning in one the many rooms of the castle.Scourge was busy with his kingly duties.
"So, do you guys know if it's a girl or a boy?", Punky asked.
The mongoose sat on a dresser Brownie was reorganizing.
"We don't yet.",Manic answered with mouthful of some frosting-covered pickles."Scourge and I are going to the doctor to find out..!"
The prince was sporting a red tank-top and jeans; the pants were the stretchy kind because Manic was puting on some weight.He was sitting on the bed,swinging his sock-covered feet; he seemed pretty excited to go see the doctor.
Brownie finally got around completing the task her co-worker was supposed to do.The cocoa brown maid helped herself up from kneeling on the ground.She walked over the bed to rest next to Manic and laid her head on his shoulder.
"Punky..", Brownie called."Why don't you ever clean up?"
The violet haired girl hoped off the dresser, it shook a bit after, causing Brownie's tired eyes to widen.Thankfully,the furniture didn't fall.
"Because..I don't do work for jerks.",Punky joined the two.
"Well,you chose to and you're here now.",her friend retorted."Besides,Scourge has softened since Manic came around."
"..You're right..",Punky got herself one of the pickles and popped one into her mouth."...Bro, this is fucking gross."
Manic looked at her with disbelief, though, he did think it was nasty but he couldn't help it.
"Ehh..It's pretty good if you eat some more.",Manic ate another one."Also,I got this for myself and I didn't ask you."
The noble chuckled at Punky,who was scrunching her face up in distaste.
"Eh,whatever.",the mongoose sighed while waving her hand in Manic's direction.
A curious Brownie reached for Manic's 'sweet n sour' snack.After a few chews, her mouth shut in disgust.
"Yeah,it tastes pretty gross..",she agreed.
Manic just brushed to two girls off and continued to chow on his snack.A moment later,a familiar coyote walks sporting his usual smug grin.
"Mon amour,the king wants to zee you~", Patch said, eyeing Manic.
Manic sighed,gave his plate to Punky,and got up from his seat.
"I told you not to call me that.", the noble complained as he went past Patch and out the doorway.
Patch just grinned at the prince as he followed.
"But you're too lovely to not be complemented~", he retorted.
As they were walking down the corridor,the carnivore kept staring at Manic's growing curves.Manic was ignoring him,power-walking to get to his mate.
"I'm zeeing a bit more shape on your body..", Patch commented,somehow being able to catch up with the rushy hedgehog."It's attractive~"
Manic just looked back at him,blushing lightly with brows furrowed.He turned his head back around to watch his step down the stairs.
"Zo,are you feeling any better,mon prince?", the male coyote continued."You were zick these couple of months.And now I zee you eating meals like there's no tomorrow.."
Scourge nor Manic told anyone about the pregnancy—well,anyone besides Punky and Brownie.Manic paused at the base of the stairs,thinking of an excuse to give.
"U-uhm", he muttered as Patch came down the stairs."I-"
The prince was interrupted by the sovereign ruler himself,walking up to Manic.The two greeted each other with a kiss.
"I was just about to go upstairs looking for you.", Scourge commented.
He had on his formal noble uniform,consisting of a dark gray dress shirt,jet black slacks,his back was covered by blood red cape, and his monochrome crown was set atop his head.Scourge moved on to scowl at his underling.
"What took you so long to get him?", he asked.
Patch lightly frowned."We were just having a conversation,your majesty."
"I guess then,whatever.", Scourge sighed."You can leave now."
The carnivore left,but gave Manic a flirtous grin before going down the hallway.Scourge frowned,clearly irritated by Patch's action just now.He turned to look back at Manic.
"You ready to go?", he asked while wrapping him arms around Manic's waist.
The prince slightly smiled, then rested his arms on the king's cape-covered shoulders.
"Yep.", he glanced down to see his feet,which were still shoeless.Manic's face shifted to an embarrassed one."Wait hold on,lemme get my shoes..!"
"Nope, I got it.You take long anyway..!",Scourge snickered as he patted Manic's rear.
The prince lightly blushed then, brashly let go of Scourge, yet smirked at the monarch's remark.Scourge went on to zip up the stairs and came back within seconds, with Manic's shoes in hand.
"Here's your shoes..", Scourge knelt and placed them in front of Manic."..Your majesty~"
The prince smiled,"Why thank you, noble gentleman~"
Manic slipped on the shoes as Scourge stood back up.The prince then locked hands as they walked out to the driveway,where another chauffeur awaited them.

"You nervous?", Scourge questioned his lover.
"..huh?", Manic mumbled; he was far too occupied with pacing around and twiddling his thumbs.
The emerald green monarch hopelessly smiled at his prince, then he rose from his seat to comfort the Mobotroplian.Manic stopped moving around as Scourge approached him with a gentle kiss.
"I-I'm not nervous..!Just a bit..excited or anxious..", Manic finally answered.
Scourge glanced away, then chuckled."I kinda am,too..!"
Manic grinned at his king just before taking a seat on the hospital bed.Scourge followed and went to his seat.Soon after, the doctor came in, greeting the pair with a warm smile.The professional was a female orange porcupine with chocolate brown bangs.She had the usual doctor's jacket covering her body, except her legs; the female wore shiny black flats.
"Good afternoon,your majesties~!", the porcupine curtsied a bit."I'm Dr.Blister!..Let's check out the child's heartbeat!"
Dr.Blister scanned her clipboard with reaching for the required gel.
"So,three months thus far, huh?", the doctor made her way towards Manic, she instructed to him to lie on his back.
"Yep.", the royals said almost in unison.
"Awesome!", the doctor responded as she rolled up Manic's shirt,then squirt the gel onto the baby bump.
The noble's body shivered a bit from the bright, aqua-blue liquid's sensation.Both parents began to impatiently stare at Manic's belly as Dr.Blister's scanner ran smoothly over.
"Ah!Here we go!..Look at the screen!", the woman gestured towards the computer opposite of her and next to Scourge.
The couple anxiously gazed at the screen just as they heard a heart beat.They squeezed each other's hand, smiling wider and wider in between heart beats.But,something seemed off in the screen...they couldn't tell what they were looking at.Scourge's smiled shrunk.
"..What is that..??", he worried."Looks like some kind of freaky mole."
"Those are your kids!", Dr.Blister reassured the king.
"Kids..?I thought we were having one?",Manic's heart jumped.
"Yep..Looks like triplets,too!", the orange porcupine used her free hand to point out each child."See the heads?One...Two..Three.."
"Oh I see..",Manic said, almost breathless.
Meanwhile, Scourge gawked at the screen, holding his head.Manic squeezed his awed-struck lover.
'Triplets..', his mind began to race.'Is this for real..?'
